- Elected by the membership
- Two year term on board of directors, finance (chair), executive, and strategic planning committees
Board Responsibilities
- Assist executive office to monitor all association funds and securities
- Ensure full and accurate bookkeeping:
- Review monthly financial statements prepared by executive office
- Monitor reimbursement and financial procedures
- Review financial records annually
- Verify Internal Revenue Service Report filings as required by law
- Conduct finance committee meetings to plan budgets and review expenditures:
- Communicate recommended expenditures to board of directors
- Report budget allocations to appropriate committees/positions
- Confirm summer Finance Committee meeting invitation with incoming treasurer
- Present written financial status at each board meeting
- Submit budget request for finance committee each year
- Present financial report at OAND annual meeting
- Perform other duties as typically vested in the office of treasurer
Transition of Treasurer
- Initiated by executive director and current treasurer
- Incoming Treasurer participates in the following as appropriate:
- Budget planning and finance committee meetings
- Contract negotiations with executive director/management company
- Orientation with written information about the following topics:
- Budget planning
- Reimbursement procedures
- Executive office
- Management services contract and committee responsibilities
- Other pertinent information regarding duties
Qualifications
- Active member of Academy/OAND
- Experience in activities and operations of the association
- Participation in national and affiliate and/or district dietetic association activities
- Experience in financial management
- Served as treasurer of district, if possible
Requirements
- Serve two years as treasurer
- Attend all board functions
Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate financial records
- Report association's financial status to board of directors and to members at annual business meeting
- Perform other duties generally vested in the office of treasurer and as outlined in OAND Bylaws and board of directors
