Tiana Montella

Chair, Council on Professional Issues (CPI)

Tiana Montella MS, RD, LD, CNSC is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics. Went on to complete Kent State University’s coordinated master’s degree and dietetic Internship. Tiana has spent the past 5 years as an OSU Inpatient RD within the Intensive Care Unit and Progressive Care Unit with a main focus of nutrition support. Tiana served as CDA's Membership chair for 2 years and now sits as President. Although for many years before, she was an active member of CDA. She has a passion for diversity, where it was her goal to increase diversity in membership this past year. She was able to host Columbus' 1st Diversify Dietetics Meet up where 9 RD and RD2Bs came together to fellowship and discuss ways to increase diversity. Over the next couple of years, she has a vision for CDA to grow and continue to more provide education, social activities and resources for RDs, DTRs and RD2Bs. She was  awarded 2020 Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year from Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She just received the 2021 Clinical Excellence Award from OSU Wexner Medical Center. Tiana just opened her a new practice, Labor and Nutrition Dietitian as a Certified Labor Doula helping women of color advocate for their rights to have a better birth experience. In her downtime, she enjoys brunch, Netflix, being outdoors and spending time with her husband and 4-year-old son.
