For most OAND members, it is time to renew your Ohio dietitian license. The Medical Board sends renewal reminders at 90, 60, and 30 days prior to expiration of an active license. So don’t forget!
When renewing an active dietitian license specific continuing education requirements must be met. An applicant for license renewal who is also a registered dietitian (RD) must certify completion of the continuing education required to hold current registration with CDR, and complete one hour of ethics or laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of dietetics in the two-year renewal period.
An applicant for license renewal who is not a RD must certify the completion of thirty hours of continuing education completed during the two-year renewal period. At least one hour in each renewal period shall relate to ethics or laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of dietetics.
All Continuing education hours must be from activities approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Licensees who have completed an ethics CEU within the past two years to maintain the RD credential may also use it to fulfill Ohio’s dietitian license renewal continuing education requirements. Licensees who have not yet completed the required CEU can search for AND/CDR approved programs at cdrnet.org/database and search for “ethics”, “rules”, “regulations” and “licensure”.
