Bonnie Willis for President

Why should OAND members vote for you. Not only include your past but also include what you can bring to the position.

It is an honor to be a dietitian in Ohio where countless colleagues represent our state at all levels of the profession and in so many areas of practice and positions of leadership. I am very proud to have served beside many of them over the years and to be able to follow in their footsteps. It is humbling to be considered for the position of President of the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

I believe that my diverse leadership experience throughout my career in the practice areas of long-term care, foodservice, and acute care have provided me with the ability to commit to advancing the mission and goals of our state Academy.

I have held many positions at the state and local level, but none surpassed my three years of participation in the AND House of Delegates. It was during this time that I developed an appreciation for the many support services and efforts of the Academy that so often go unnoticed. I was honored to be able to represent Ohio’s dietitians during the Second Century planning for our profession.

I believe that the position of President of the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requires a commitment to the responsibilities of the office and a level of professionalism that I have demonstrated in the many positions I’ve held, both in my career as a dietitian and in my volunteer commitments.

I sincerely appreciate your consideration and vote for the position of your next President.

Bonnie

Something personal about yourself that you would like to share.

Dietetics was not what I planned to do when I graduated from high school. Unlike many of you, my first choice was to be an accountant, or perhaps a nurse. It is funny how our lives take twists and turns because of one person who crosses our path. For me, that person was Jeannie Roscoe, a dietitian who recognized in a young mother of three little girls, and a food service aide at a nursing home, a future in dietetics. I will forever be grateful to her for the encouragement to pursue this career.
