Complete Story

International NCP and NCPT Implementation Survey

You are invited to take part in a research survey about NCP and NCPT implementation among dietitians. The survey is web based and will require approximately 20 minutes of your time.

This research study is conducted by the International NCP and NCPT Implementation Survey (INIS) Consortium, where 23 countries have come together to understand how the NCP is implemented by dietitians around the globe.

The consortium is coordinated by Dr Elin Lövestam, Uppsala University, Sweden.

Responsible for data collection in the United States is the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Research, International and Scientific Affairs team, Dr. Constantina Papoutsakis and Dr. Alison Steiber. We would be honored if you could give us some of your valuable time so you can contribute in this global effort as a participant from the United States.

Complete the Survey

The Nutrition Care Process (NCP) was developed to provide dietitians with a framework for systematic problem solving in nutrition care. The Nutrition Care Process Terminology (NCPT) was developed with the goal to increase consistency and clarity in clinical documentation. The purpose of this study is to assess international and national NCP/NCPT implementation and attitudes in 23 countries across the world.

Who can participate in this study?

All registered dietitians (or the equivalent where registration is not mandated), can take part in this study. We are interested in responses both from dietitians using the NCP and NCPT and those who are not.

What does it mean to participate in the study?

If you choose to take part of the study, you will respond to a web-based survey, taking approximately 20 minutes of your time. The questionnaire includes questions related to demographics (e.g., to describe the sample), and NCP/NCPT implementation, attitudes and knowledge. There are also questions on the use of Electronic Health Records and outcomes management. You may save your responses and return to the questionnaire if you need to interrupt while completing the survey.

The online platform RedCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is used for the survey. We will not collect or use internet protocol (IP) addresses or other information which could link your participation to your computer or electronic device. If you need to interrupt while completing the survey, you will be provided a code that allows you to return. It is important that you save this code and keep it confidential. Your responses will be kept strictly confidential and digital data will be stored in secure computer files. Any report of this study available to the public will not include any individual information by which you could be identified.

Voluntary Participation?

Your participation in this study is voluntary. You may choose to leave any questions blank or withdraw your participation by not submitting your responses.

After this study, the results will be presented in peer-reviewed scientific journals. If you have any questions or want a summary of this study’s results, you can contact the researcher at the e-mail address below.
